Report to the Honorable Duncan L. Hunter, House of Representatives This report provides information on (1) government-owned inventions licensed by six federal agencies during fiscal years 1996 through 1998, including the royalties these agencies had as of Octover 1, 1998; (2) whether the licenses were exclusive or nonexclusive; (3) whether the licensees were small businesses, individuals, large businesses, or nonprofit organizations; and (4) whether the licensees were foreign or domestic.

PDP 분야에서의 초점은 (1) 고효율과 기술, (2) 양산공정 기술, (3) 형광체를 비롯한 소재 기술 개발측면에서 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 추세로 보면, LCD에서는 TV 및 복합 멀티미디어 세계시장을 조기에 진입하여 점유하기 위해 향후 적어도 5년 이상은 LCD 강대국 간의 미래 혁신기술의 개발이 치열하게 전개될 것이다. 이러한 상황에서 우리나라는 세계시장의 조기확보와 우위를 점할 수 있도록 집중적이고 지속적인 연구개발이 수행되어야 하며, 이를 기반으로 차세대 정보 디스플레이의 최대 강국으로 부상하여야 할 것이다.
