2001 IEEE 고주파 집적회로 심포지엄 스크랩

개요: 2001 IEEE Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC) Symposium은 5월 20일에서 22일 까지 미국 애리조나주, Phoenix의Phoenix Civic Plaza에서IMS (International Microwave Symposium)와 함께 개최되었다. 이번 학회는 RF IC Workshops, Short Courses, Plenary Sessions, Technical Sessions 및 Panel Discussion등으로 구분되어 개최되었다. 본 학회에서는RF IC설계와 관련하여 총 13 Sessions 즉 W-CDMA Transceivers, Power Amplifiers, Frequency Generation, Next Generation Front End Design, GPS & Bluetooth System Design, Integrated Bluetooth Transceivers, RFIC Packaging & Passive Components, Active Device Modeling for RFIC Applications, High Frequency Devices & Techniques, RF Transceivers, Control Circuits for Receivers and Transmitters, Low Noise Amplifiers, Building Block Front Ends등으로 구분되어 진행되었다. 현재 차세대 무선기술의 혁명을 예상케하는 블루투스 응용에 기초하여 RF CMOS를 주제로 한 Lunchtime Panel Discussion도 함께 진행되었다. RF IC Plenary Session에서는 RF CMOS를 토대로 하여 Wireless LAN과 관련한 연구내용이 발표되었으며, RF IC Workshops에서는 RFIC 설계 기술, RFIC를 겨냥한 MEMS기술, 차세대 광대역 CDMA 시스템을 포함한 광대역 통신시스템 기술, IC Packaging 및 Interconnect기술 등 다양한 주제로 진행되었다. Short Courses에서도 역시 RFIC와 관련하여 Transceiver에서 가장 중요한 부분중의 하나인 Power Amplifier에 집중적인 관심도를 보이며, 수준 높은 강연이 진행되었다. 더불어 소규모 벤처기업에서부터 대규모 기업까지 850여 RF 및 microwave관련 회사들의 제품 전시회도 함께 개최되어 학술 회에 참석한 사람들에게 한층 더 가능성 있는 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다. 이 학회의 보고서는 애리조나 주립대학교 전기공학과에 계신 류지열님께서 수고해주셨습니다. 궁금하신 점은 류지열님께 문의하시기 바랍니다. Glass et.al. 3.출판사: Bell Labs Technical Journal 4.출판날짜:January-march, 2000 5.내용소개: 최근 각광을 받고 있는 정보 통신 분야의 재료 핵심 분야인 광섬유 기술에 관한 논문입니다. 광섬유 기술에 대한 review와 아울러 이의 발전 역사, 광섬유의 디자인과 제조, 광학 증폭기, fiber grating 그리고 차세대 광섬유 재료에 대한 최신 연구 동향과 기술적인 진조에 대해 기술한 논문입니다. 또한 앞으로 광섬유를 이용한 광통신의 한계와 이를 극복할 수 있는 기술 개발 및 광 통신 미래에 대해서도 기술되어 있습니다. 분석자 서문: 전송손실이 적고 (0.2dB/km), 큰 전송용량 (광대역, 400Gb/s Single Channel), 부피 및 무게의 적고, 전자기장의 영향을 받지 등 다른 통신 매개에 비해 많은 장점을 지니고 있는 광 섬유 및 광통신에 관한 논문으로, 광통신의 개략적인 역사 소개와 광섬유의 설계 및 제작, 광증폭기, 광섬유 회절격자, 미소 구조 광섬유 등 주요 광통신 분야에서의 발전을 설명하고 있다. 광섬유 및 광통신의 발전 요인은 크게 재료 공학의 발전 및 초고순도의 광섬유를 가공할 수 있는 공정의 개발과 반도체 레이저, 광 스위치 등의 부품 개발로 볼 수 있으며, 앞으로 대략 10년 정도면 광통신의 이론 한계 값(50THz)에 달할 수 있을 것으로 예상되며, 현재 시간당 3000 Mile의 속도로 광섬유가 설치되는 것을 감안하면, 2010년대에는 전세계적으로 개인 당 100Mb/s의 용량이 할당될 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 이러한 광통신의 분야의 기술의 진보는 앞으로 (적어도 10년간은) 계속적 상당한 속도로 이뤄질 것으로 보이며, 이러한 발전이 경제에 주요 영향을 줄 것으로 예상된다. 이 자료의 분석은 한국과학기술원 인공위성연구센터에 계시는 이준호박사님께서 수고해 주셨습니다. 궁금하신 점은 박사님께 문의하시기 바랍니다. e-mIl : jhl@satrec.kaist.ac.kr 첨부 .Advances in Fiber Optics Original.pdf .Advances in Fiber Optics junholee.pdf

일본의 과학기술 벤쳐기업의 경영실태와 창업자에 관한 조사연구 스크랩

일본의 문부과학성(구 과학기술청) 과학기술정책연구소에서 2000년 9월에 일본의 과학기술 벤쳐기업에 대한 서베이 조사 결과를 분석한 연구보고서입니다. 전체 파일은 표지와 목차 및 내용, 그리고 설문지 등으로 파일이 구성되어 있습니다. 목차 및 내용이 112페이지로 되어 있습니다. 이 자료를 제가 분석하고 싶습니다. 이 보고서는 일본의 과학기술 벤쳐의 전체적인 실태와 정부의 지원제도 및 그에 따른 효과 등을 잘 알 수 있는 자료입니다. 한국 과학기술 벤쳐에 시사하는 바가 크다고 생각됩니다. 목차 1. 조사목적과 대상기업 2. 회답기업의 프로필 3. 회답기업의 유형화 4. 창업시의 자금적 상황 5. 경영관리와 조직 6. 창업의 프로세스 특성 7. 경영자의 개인 속성 8. 창업 경영자의 개인 속성 9. 창업경영자의 백그라운드 10. 창업 직전의 취업 상황 11. 창업을 위한 경력 경로 12. 산업계, 정부, 학계와의 연계 13. 특허 관련 문제 14. 과학기술 지원시책의 이용상황 분석자 서문: 본 조사연구는 일본의 기술계 벤처기업의 경영실태와 창업자에 관한 조사로써, 규모가 큰 기업보다 소규모의 기술계 벤처기업을 대상으로 하여 일본의 벤처기업의 실태를 분석하였다. 기술계 벤처기업을 정의한다는 것 자체가 어려운 문제이지만, 어쨌든 설립된지 10년 이내라고 하는 점에서는 어느 정도 벤처기업들의 현황을 담았다고 볼 수 있을 것이다. 본 조사연구는 전체적으로 벤처기업의 창업실태와 창업자의 속성, 그리고 벤처기업의 경영관리와 조직, 기술적 특성 및 특허, 벤처기업의 현재 경영자에 대해서 분석하고 있다. 또한 벤처기업 중에서도 실제적으로 IPO(주식공개)를 지향하는가 그렇지 않는가에 따른 비교분석을 통해서 성장지향 벤처기업의 특징들을 견해내고자 노력하였다. 거기에다 전체적인 대상기업 중에서 바이오 및 인터넷 등 최근 기술과 관련된 벤처기업들을 별도로 구분해서 비교분석을 한 점도 크게 평가할 수 있는 점이다. 또한 후반부에서는 일본 정부의 벤처기업에 대한 지원 및 보조정책에 대한 부분도 담아, 한국벤쳐기업에 종사하고 있는 벤처기업가 뿐 만 아니라 벤처기업에 대한 육성정책 및 지원정책을 수립하는 정부관계자에게도 상당한 시사점을 제공해준다고 할 수 있다. 이 자료의 분석은 일본 동경대학에 계시는 박영원님께서 수고해 주셨습니다. 궁금하신 점은 박영원님께 문의하시기 바랍니다. e-mail : park-ezra@hanmail.net 첨부 study of ventures & founders in japan - Park study of ventures & founders in japan - Original *원문(3개)은 파일 첨부가 3개밖에 안되므로 부득이 압축파일로 올립니다.

Navy Network-Centric Warfare Concept : Key Programs and Issues for Congress 스크랩

Network-Centric warfare(NCW) is the Navy's central concept for organizing its efforts to transform itself for military operations in the 21st Century. NCW focuses on using information technology(IT) to link together Navy ships, aircraft, and shore installations into highly integrated networks. It could significantly improve U.S. naval capabilities and lead to substantial changes in naval tactics, doctrine, and organization. Key programs for implementing NCW include the Cooperative Engagement Capability(CEC), the IT-21 program, and the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet(NMCI). Congress has closely followed and expressed concern for some of these programs. The Navy is working to resolve problems with the CEC system that were discovered in testing. The Navy recently awarded a multibillion-dollar NMCI contract and has begun to create the NMCI network.

Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles : Issues and Outlook 스크랩

The Department of Defense(DoD) has recently accelerated efforts to develop Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles(UCAVs). Controlled by operators on the ground, designers envision these aircraft could launch, attack, and recover without crew members aboard. UCAVs have not received broad attention but as development efforts mature and funding requirements grow, they will likely come under increasing scrutiny. Issues of potential congressional interest include acquisition strategy, affordability, procurement quantity, arms control implications, manning implications, and suitability as a surveillance platform.
